Digestion
The gut is incredibly sensitive and responsive to changes in internal (what we eat, and how we function physiologically) and external (environmental, movement, and nervous system stressors) conditions, literally reflecting how we digest life. Digestive function is particularly important in Ayurveda (Indian medical system and foundational science of yoga) and the constitutional elements [blog 5 elements] of all things.

Yoga therapy uses this holistic approach to evaluate the factors that are most likely to be contributing to each person’s digestive function.
What we learn together determines the strategies that can be used to support digestion, including:
- Bodywork – lymphatic drainage, manual therapy, Ayurvedic massage
- Movement therapy
- Breathwork
- Ayurvedic dosha (constitutional elements) assessment and lifestyle / dietary guidance
- Stress and anxiety support
