When the limes are flinging themselves from the tree, bursting with juicy flavour and a neighbour harvests a carrier bag full of fresh coriander for you to rescue it from seeding - there's a delicious hummus waiting to be created!

Seasonal snacks

Eating seasonal produce is an Ayurvedic principle that offers delicious, nutritious and digestable eats when your bodies are ready to receive them. This recipe also has the 6 tastes covered, especially when served with bread or carrot sticks for the ‘sweet’ taste amidst astringent & slightly bitter coriander, sour lime, pungent garlic and salty salt of the hummus!

Lime & coriander hummus

  • 2 packed handfuls of fresh coriander
  • 2 tins chickpeas – drained and rinsed
  • Juice 1 1/2 limes
  • 1-2tbsp tahini (depending on your palate for smooth, silky (more tahini) or rustic hummus + capacity for oil (less to no tahini)
  • 2 tsp crushed garlic
  • 2 tbsp black cumin seeds
  • 2 tbsp white sesame seeds
  • Salt & pepper

Then

  • Whizz everything up in a food processor, or stick blender to your desired consistency
  • Will keep for a week in the fridge…but won’t last that long
