Manual lymphatic drainage

Bodywork

The lymphatic system is a complete circulatory system that is incredibly important for health, recovery and adaptation. It contributes to our immune systems, balances fluid in the body, clearing and removing waste and toxins from active tissues. When the lymphatic system is overly active, overwhelmed, or damaged the presence of waste and toxins creates dis-ease in body mind systems and our overall health.

Manual lymphatic drainage is a gentle, non-invasive manual technique that can help with chronic pain, illness & recovery

There are between 5-600 lymph nodes in the body, each acting as a cleansing, purifying and filtering intersection within the extensive lymphatic vessel network that circulates 4-5 litres of fluid per day. Seventy percent of lymphatic vessels are just under the skin, making manual lymphatic drainage an incredibly gentle, relaxing and therapeutic treatment for body-mind health. The remaining vessels are deeper, supporting organ function, digestive capacity and the cardiovascular system, yet still easily accessible within the subtle bodywork of lymphatic drainage.

The efficiency of this complete system is particularly challenged by viral illness, chronic health and inflammatory conditions such as arthritis, fibromyalgia, Chron’s disease, ulcerative colitis, ME, chronic fatigue, blood disorders, long covid and other viral illnesses.
