La Douceur du Silence - Entering Silence

This 5 day retreat, with 3 days in silence, is an invitation to come back to yourself and to meet your sacred truth. Surrounded by nature, this space is an opportunity to reconnect and awaken the relationship with Self.

  • A space for self-care and exploration into your own depth.
  • A space to sense and feel your body and precious heart space.
  • A circle to connect & honour your femininity and its power.
  • A call to honour who you truly are, to heal with love and fully embody your light.

Together, we will explore the foundations of nervous system regulation, discover how silence can become a sanctuary and place of profound connection.

Through somatic practices, gentle movement, and compassionate inquiry, you’ll build the tools to anchor yourself in safety and presence.

Completely biased in opinion, and yet so committed in truth that these teacher training experiences are the best in the world!

Teacher training is one of Jane’s favourite places to be, it serves to nourish, inspire, humble, and marvel in all that we have, and can be when we soften into being, moving, breathing beings; connected with all there is.

Jane is blessed to be founder faculty of Awakening Arts School of Yoga and Eco-Somatics with dear friend and colleague Juliette McConachy. She regularly teaches on the Terra Soma 200 hr RYT and advanced 300 hr Art and Science of Rest trainings in the beautiful surroundings of Shambhala eco-retreat, Onekaka, Golden Bay, NZ.

Jane is world class! What a treasure of a find here in little old New Zealand. Jane teaches anatomy and physiology from the lens of western medical science, yogic science, and therapeutic experiential somatics.
What our students learn most of all with Jane is to work less for their practice and BE more in it/with it. Jane teaches, and demonstrates in her approach to her own practice, efficient pathways for fulfilling the āsana shapes with effortless strength, grace and awareness. Her profound knowledge of the body and her skill in meeting each student, beginners and beyond, exactly where they’re at, makes learning with Jane somehow both engaging and deeply relaxing! Come experience it for you self!
We love learning and growing, moving and being moved with you Jane

YTT 200 Terra Soma™ yoga teacher training 2025

April 16th – May 14th

28 day residential & fully catered foundational teacher training – Golden Bay, NZ.

We receive such amazing feedback and reviews from the 200 hr trainings, and love to share this comprehensive introduction to the history, philosophy and methodologies of yoga. The training prepares and qualifies students with the necessary sensitivities and skill to facilitate yoga as a practice for friends and family and/or as a fulfilling profession.

Students travel from abroad to train in this particular style and in this location. We are proud of our program, it’s depth, integrity, vision and application within our modern context.
Awakening Arts offers a unique synergy of non-dual tantric philosophy and methodology + hatha yoga practice, with ecopsychology and contemporary somatic arts.
This style is growing in popularity for it’s refined balance of depth and play, structure and flow. For it’s attunement to the individuals needs, and it’s enthusiasm for fostering community and propelling social change.
This training brings students home to their body and home to the body of the world.
The program prepares students to live wholeheartedly in this aching and waking world with connection and belonging to self, community and ecology.

Go to the Awakening Arts website for information on all training and workshop offerings and words from our incredible kula.

The Art & Science of Rest – 2025

29th November – 7th December – 10 day residential & fully catered advanced teacher training – Golden Bay, NZ.

Jane Hardcastle and Juliette McConachy offer a deepening dive into The Art and Science of Rest.

This advanced module takes students deeper into the knowledge and embodied experience of being beyond the rush and drive to keep up, to perform, to produce. Exploring ways of living in greater relation to the ebb and flow of Rest.

As teachers of yoga, therapists, body workers, or somatic movement guides Rest is a terrain we must know well and have access to in ourselves if we are to guide others into the most nourishing and generative ground of their own being.
